Last night's game was highlighted by Julia Mangan's fine display of hitting. Leading all women (and most of the men) with 2 hits (1 of them a double) Julia catapulted herself to the top of all fantasy softball wish lists. "I know you told me to take a few pitches," she said to her proud husband, Josh (1-1 with a SAC, a double and an RBI), "but I just SAW the pitch!"
Mark Gerdy, playing his first game in almost a month, pitch an outstanding game (he struck out the first batter of the game on 3 pitches) and also hit a home run. Bryan Lehman had a triple, a double and 2 runs. Ryan Fisher hit a home run in the 2nd inning. Victor Angon hit a triple AND beat out an infield single...TO THE 1st BASEMAN! (if you've ever seen Vic run, you know that was an amazing feat). Sally Gregoire had 2 more hits to add to her amazing 11 hits on the season (she's 2nd on the team in hits).
We beat the Roadies 11-5 in a scorcher of a game (game time temp was about 98 degrees) to improve our record to 5-1 (2nd place). Next week we go against Mauldin Methodist (a top 3 team) in the final game of the regular season. Game time is at 7:30pm, bring the kids, it'll be a great game.

Erstwhile, Susan pulls out an amazing looking-strikeout. Not many people can manage such an amazing attempt (usually because most sane people follow the mantra that with 2 strikes, you swing if it's close). However, I just wanted people to feel better about themselves. I'm all about boosting other people's egos. I'm so nice like that. :)
